What’s in my Gimaguas Bag

What kind of bags do jentestore employees carry? Step into their little worlds filled with memories, personal tastes, and tiny secrets hidden inside their bags.

Q. What are three things you always carry in your bag?

1. My headphones, which at this point feel like an extension of my body. I’ve had them for about four or five years now, so they’re a little worn but still work perfectly fine. Everyone always asks why I stick to these instead of switching to airpods or earbuds, even in the middle of summer. To be honest, buying another pair feels unnecessary when these are still working.

2. Mintia, these Japanese mints my friend brought back after a trip. They’ve become a staple in my bag. They’re smaller than most pills, but they definitely do the job. I had some shine muscat grape-flavored ones too, but I finished them literally just yesterday.

3. Eye drops. A must-have for anyone working a desk job, right? Staring at tiny numbers and letters on a screen while wearing contacts dries out my eyes like nothing else. I have to keep using eye drops throughout the day to survive.

Q. What’s your morning routine?

I set my first alarm for 15 minutes before I actually need to wake up, so I can sleep again. Then, five minutes before my absolute last chance to get up, I force my brain to wake up by scrolling through Instagram and absorbing the latest updates.

Once I get up and splash water on my face, I’m already halfway there. As someone living in Gyeonggi-do, getting to my office in Seoul takes over an hour, which is the real challenge.

Q. What completes your personal style?

Perfume.

It’s the final touch to whatever I’m wearing that day. Whenever I leave the house feeling like I forgot something, it’s usually because I’ve forgotten to spritz it on. It’s the same as doing a full face of makeup but forgetting lipstick, it’s just not finished.

Q. What’s your favorite perfume?

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum and Jo Malone Honeysuckle & Davana.

I layer them. Miss Dior has that perfect feminine floral scent and lasts forever, while Honeysuckle & Davana leans more gender-neutral in a way I love. It’s a cologne so it fades faster, but together, they balance each other out. I used to wear them separately, but I love both so much that I started mixing them. I’m already on my third bottle of the Jo Malone.

Q. Bonus question—what’s your favorite food?

I once played an online game thing that determines your favorite food, and soy sauce-marinated crab won. It’s not something you normally get to eat all the time, which probably makes me love it even more. One on one, nothing beats it for me.

Q. Lastly, as a buying manager, what brand are you into lately?

RIV NOBUHIKO.

It’s a brand by a Korean and a Japanese designer together. They’re known for their round bead buttons and I have a thing for anything circular. I got a hat with those details and It looks like a little bunch of grapes, which makes it even cuter. The fit is great too, so I’m definitely planning to get more from them.

Q. What are three things you always carry in your bag?

1. Super spicy shichimi. A teammate brought it back from Japan. The label says it’s 9x spicy, but honestly? Still not enough for me.

2. A Thai herbal inhaler. Essential after meetings. Essential after late nights. One deep inhale, and it feels like my brain just got a refresh.

3. A Hello Kitty mirror. I already like checking the mirror a lot, and if it’s cute too? Say no more.

Q. What’s your morning routine?

I’m strict about one thing: my drink has to be zero sugar. Every morning, I stop by a convenience store and grab a Zero Coco. It’s zero calories and has coconut jelly inside. (The yogurt and grape flavors are my go-tos.)

Q. What completes your personal style?

Fur in winter, micro shorts in summer. When I like something I commit, meaning I collect it in every color and pattern I can get my hands on.

Q. What’s something not many people know about you?

My arms are short. One time, back when I worked in design, I tried on a jacket sample, and they adjusted the sleeves based on my fit. The final sample came out way too short. After that, they banned me from jacket fittings.

Q. What’s at the top of your wishlist?

Miu Miu boxing boots. There’s only a sample in Korea right now, and no set release date. I’m waiting.

Q. 2025 trend predictions?

2024 was all about bows and ultra-feminine vibes. 2025? Still girly, but with a sporty twist. Think more wearable, everyday cute looks with just a hint of athletic influence.

Q. What are three things you always carry in your bag?

1. A bent credit card. I lose wallets too often, so I gave up and started carrying just one card. One night, someone must’ve sat on it because now it’s permanently curved. No idea who did it.

2. My passport. I lost my ID a year ago, so this has been my go-to for everything, even when I need to show ID at bars.

3. A rosé-colored stress ball. A friend wanted one but had to buy a set of eight on Amazon, so I took one. The texture is ridiculously addictive. Should’ve grabbed two.

Q. What’s your morning routine?

Scooter to work with the wind in my face waking my brain up.

Q. Who is your very own style icon?

Amelia Gray. She always finds a way to show off her style while still managing to look casual.

Q. Favorite spot in Seoul?

Pancake Original Story. There was a phase where I went every weekend. Sitting on the terrace, soaking up the sun, eating pancakes with honey vanilla butter…

Q. Last thing you searched for?

The Solitary Gourmet movie. It’s coming to theaters in Korea, and I need to see Goro-san on the big screen.

Q. What’s the best thing you bought in 2025 so far?

Hands down, the Gimaguas Anna Maria Mini Bag. The size is just absolutely perfect. Ever since I got it, I haven’t carried anything else.

Q. What are three things you always carry in your bag?

Three? I can’t stick to just three. I carry three makeup pouches alone. I hate dry skin, so I always have a brush, hand cream, hair oil, and eye drops. I get cold easily in winter too, so I carry a neck warmer, gloves, and a lightweight padded jacket. I also can’t handle being hungry, so I always have snacks like soy milk, yogurt, or blueberries. On workout days, I pack gym clothes and sneakers. Sometimes, I throw a book in there too… not that I read very much.

Q. What’s your morning routine?

I do my makeup while listening to podcast-style youtube videos. Sometimes it’s Korea Market Morning Briefing, sometimes it’s Buddhist teachings from Pomnyun Sunim, and sometimes, other self-development content.

Q. What completes your personal style?

I pay a lot of attention to color coordination. I gravitate toward neutral tones like taupe, deep gray, brown. I love playing around with tonal styling in those shades. The “demure” trend is huge right now, and it goes perfectly with my aesthetic, which is great.

Q. What’s your favorite brand right now?

It changes every season. Lately, I’ve been really into Gimaguas. Their pieces are minimal but practical, with unique styling elements. Aside from that, I always love MNZ, Vivienne Westwood, and Junya Watanabe.

Q. What’s the best movie you’ve seen recently?

I’ve been rewatching Quentin Tarantino films. Inglourious Basterds, Django Unchained, Pulp Fiction. They’re right up my alley.

Q. What’s at the top of your wishlist?

Nothing, actually. I checked off my wishlist when I got my Balenciaga Bel Air bag. Now, I’m just waiting for my Tokyo cool-down period to reset so I can plan another trip.

Q. Any regrets from recent purchases?

None. I don’t have anything I regret.
