Neutral Palette

Jente’s first trend of this SS season: Neutral Palette.

We've pulled two standout elements from SS25 collections and reinterpreted them with our own unique twist.

Instead of bright, vivid colors and stark contrasts dominating the runways this season, we've noticed a softer, more refined palette taking center stage. We were drawn to how the quiet confidence of neutral tones revealed something extraordinary: subtle details popping precisely because the colors held back.

On top of the muted colors, we also see new and effortless ways of layering. Think gently mixing translucent watercolors rather than throwing on multiple layers for bulk. Less about quantity, more about thoughtfully balancing each piece while keeping silhouettes and proportions in perfect harmony.

Minimal but never boring, simple but with a hidden depth. Jente’s first trend report for the new season: Neutral Palette.

So what does “neutral” really mean? Technically, it’s about being balanced, sitting in the middle. But this season, it’s more than that. It’s a feeling, a mindset, a fresh way of approaching fashion with ease and confidence.

Neutral dressing isn’t about playing it safe. The simplified color palette and flowing silhouettes create overall balance, with plenty of freedom still mixed in. Fashion doesn't need strict rules anymore.

Toss a jacket over your waist like a belt, double up on identical shirts and wear one as a top, the other as a makeshift skirt. The magic happens when you take what’s familiar and see it in a new light. Suddenly, neutral isn’t so neutral anymore.

It’s like a perfectly balanced seesaw. Nothing too extreme, yet full of movement. The beauty of neutrals is that they’re the perfect blank canvas for your creativity.

We've handpicked four brands we think truly embody the specific neutral palette energy we have in mind for this season.

OUR LEGACY SS25

OUR LEGACY had us hooked with their SS25 collection, ‘Blood Knot.’ It was already relaxed, muted and effortlessly cool, but the way they shot it took things to another level. Models walked behind a glass panel, their reflections blending with photographers and passersby. The result was something dreamlike, almost cinematic, where reality and observation blurred together.

Director Cristopher Nying found his inspiration in a small Greek fishing village. Beach debris, bottle caps, bits of rope, seashells. That raw, coastal energy translated into pieces like sea-breeze-creased shirts and knits that look like they were woven from fishing nets. The whole collection felt like a memory. Distant yet familiar, like something you can almost touch but not quite.

PALOMA WOOL SS25

Paloma Wool is back at it, serving up their signature blend of art and fashion with a Neutral Palette twist. Imagine fabrics washed in soft, diluted whites, creating pieces that feel airy and effortless. Layering is key here. Sheer dresses, skirts, and trousers worn over colorful inners, creating depth through transparency.

A standout in particular was their collaboration with Santangelo on the jewelry. With things like shell-patterned belts, mother-of-pearl details on tops and necklaces that look like ocean treasures, each piece felt like something you’d stumble upon during a beach walk, adding an organic, sculptural touch to the lineup.

Soft hues, barely-there fabrics, bold cut-outs. Paloma Wool once again nails the art of layering with an artistic, offbeat charm.

LEMAIRE SS25

LEMAIRE’s SS25 collection is all about easy, effortless silhouettes. Nothing overcomplicated, just pieces that make sense. Designer Sarah-Linh Tran described it as "concise and understandable," and honestly, that’s exactly what it feels like.

Compared to previous seasons, this collection had a clear shift in color. Vogue called attention to the use of subtle natural tones like mossy greens and earthy browns, shades pulled straight from the forest floor. The show started with sharp black leather looks, then gradually melted into butter yellows, soft ivories, blue-grays, and fresh melon tones. Nothing loud, yet everything had impact.

Even with its clean lines, LEMAIRE proved that color alone can shift the mood entirely.

ACNE STUDIOS SS25

ACNE STUDIOS is known for its edgy, grungy aesthetic. But this season showed us a total pivot. Creative director Jonny Johansson described the collection as "soft, playful, spontaneous", an undeniably refreshing contrast to the brand’s usual identity.

That shift was obvious from the very first look. Nude-toned knits, shorts paired with tops that doubled as skirts. Gone were the distressed, grunge-heavy pieces. Instead, there was a lightness, an openness, a fresh perspective. A quiet, but powerful statement.

ACNE STUDIOS felt like someone stepping into a new phase of life, more refined, more confident, still experimental, but in a way that feels intentional. It wasn’t about looking back. It was about embracing what’s next.

Neutral dressing isn’t just about sticking to beige and off-white. It’s about rethinking the basics, playing with textures, and letting your style evolve. More than a trend, the neutral palette is an attitude, one that lets every brand (and every person wearing it) define their own version of balance.
