The Sweats Wishlist

Sweatpants, Sweatshirts, and Everything in Between
A wish list from an editor who wears sweat items more than three times a week.
ENTIRE STUDIOS Heavy Flare Pants
If there’s one thing I swear by, it’s a good pair of flare pants. At 161 centimeters tall, finding ones that make my legs look miles long is a rare win. Comfort is obviously a must, but if they also have that effortless, thrown-together cool factor? It’s an instant yes. Even better if they skim over my shoes just a little bit.

With flares, the smallest details can make or break the whole thing. Where the flare starts and how it flows completely changes the fit. That’s exactly why these pink flares from ENTIRE STUDIOS immediately made it into my cart. They’re fitted in all the right spots but still loose enough to keep things relaxed. I already have a closet full of gray and black sweats, so this fresh pink shade felt like a well-timed switch-up. The second they arrive, I’m wearing them just like the campaign model, pulled up unapologetically high.

I’ve been into ENTIRE STUDIOS for years now. When I first found them, they were only selling one thing: a glossy puffer jacket. Everything was pre-order, so after ordering you’d sit and wait a couple of months for it to arrive all the way from New Zealand.

The brains behind the brand, Sebastian Hunt and Dylan Richards, used to design for YEEZY and you can totally tell. Their oversized silhouettes have that distinct, futuristic edge, and now that so many brands have copied their aesthetic, they’ve shifted toward more tailored designs. Luckily, their sweatwear still hits every time, and I’m here for it.
COTTON CITIZEN Geneva Pants
COTTON CITIZEN is the definition of laid-back LA style. Clean, sporty, and perfectly effortless.

When you think of LA fashion, it’s basically a collection of paparazzi shots of celebs in their everyday outfits. Over the years, I’ve analyzed way too many of these street-style moments, but my favorite go-to for casual outfit inspo is model Amelia Gray. She’s got this ability to make sweatpants feel intentional, like a fashion statement instead of an afterthought. Honestly, I think she looks even cooler in her everyday outfits than on the red carpet.

That’s why I’m obsessed with COTTON CITIZEN’s Geneva Pants. They hit that sweet spot between comfy and polished, structured enough for work, but chill enough to head straight to the gym after. By the way, that’s why they’re called sweatpants, if you didn’t know. The fabric is specifically made to absorb moisture.

sacai Grey Sponge Sweatshirt
This sweatshirt has been stuck in my head for weeks. I always have this little fear with sweatshirts, like, is this going to make me look too sloppy? Is it too chill? Sacai takes that worry and tosses it out the window. The puffed sleeves make sure it looks sculptural and intentional instead of just another oversized sweater. Pair it with a black skirt, and you instantly have a fit. The only downside is my wallet might not survive the damage. (someone please stop me)

Sacai is unbeatable when it comes to unique details. Whether it’s a sweatshirt, hoodie, or zip-up, their designs always have something unexpected. Creative director Chitose Abe is a master of remixing classic silhouettes. She just cuts, layers and reconstructs the fabrics in a way that makes every piece feel fresh.

Sacai also does this with outerwear and even sneakers. With pieces that feel wearable and avant-garde at the same time, keep an eye out because every collection they drop has something to buy.
BALENCIAGA Track Suit Pants
Do I even need to explain why BALENCIAGA made the list? Of course I want these. Obviously, I need these.
If I’m dropping serious money on clothing, I usually want it to look expensive. But not in an obnoxious way, it needs to be cool without trying too hard. These track suit pants get it. The logo placement? Just subtle enough to be noticed without screaming for attention. The layered details? Exactly what makes them stand out from basic sweats.

I have a soft spot for Demna’s BALENCIAGA. A brand always reflects its creative director, and Demna just gets the high-fashion sweatwear aesthetic like no one else. It’s no shock that every rare candid photo of him shows him in a pair of sweatpants and an oversized jacket. If anyone deserves credit for turning sweats into a high-fashion staple, it’s him.

THE ROW Cotton Sweatpants
What happens when a luxury brand known for minimalism and superior fabric selection turns its attention to sweatpants? You get THE ROW’s take on loungewear. Clean, simple, and effortlessly luxurious.

©mytheresa.com
I stumbled upon these sweatpants while deep in an internet fashion rabbit hole, and the moment I saw them, I could feel the softness through the screen. It’s THE ROW, after all. They don’t do anything halfway, and if I’m going to invest in one elevated, everyday piece, it might as well be this.
THE ROW is also a perfect example of ‘one-mile wear,’ a concept that’s been gaining traction recently. The term refers to clothing designed for the short distances you travel in daily life, whether it’s running an errand, grabbing coffee, or stepping out for fresh air. It’s that perfect balance between homewear and streetwear: comfortable enough to lounge in, but polished enough to leave the house. And let’s be real, if I’m going to spend serious money on sweatpants, I’d like to wear them everywhere.

The Olsen twins have mastered the art of making the simplest outfit look impossibly chic, and THE ROW’s pieces reflect that sensibility. If I do take the plunge and buy these, I’d probably try to style them just as effortlessly, maybe with a crisp white tee and a relaxed blazer. Minimal, timeless, and completely wearable.
Collina Strada burst hoodie
Collina Strada has been on my wishlist for a while now. Their bold colors, unique textures, and quirky silhouettes make even the most basic pieces feel like art. I knew I wanted something from them, but I wasn’t sure what, until I saw Willem Dafoe wearing this hoodie looking like the chill guy.

Lately, the ‘chill guy’ aesthetic has gone viral. It’s more than just a style, it’s more of a whole mood. Relaxed, unbothered, and again effortlessly cool. People aren’t just dressing for aesthetics; they’re dressing for comfort inside and out.

@collinastrada
That’s why I love how Collina Strada styles their pieces. A lace skirt with a cotton hoodie? Unexpected, but ridiculously cool. It’s exactly how I like to dress. Fun, easygoing, and a little rebellious. Sweatwear isn’t just about being comfortable; it’s about expressing yourself without overthinking it.
So, will I buy everything on this list? Probably not. Will I think about them constantly? Absolutely.
And maybe, just maybe, I’ll cave and buy one or two (or five) of them.
