Ashley Williams

Girls love Ashley Williams.

A quick look around will tell you that. But the girls in question aren’t necessarily the fresh-faced, wide-eyed figures types you might picture.

These are women who’ve seen a little of the world and been through some highs and lows. Women who have passed the twenty-something mark, but continue to hold onto the little things that still make them feel special. Women who adore cuteness, who still gravitate towards pink, but who also have a wild streak and aren’t afraid to go off the rails every now and then. Those women? They’re all obsessed with Ashley Williams. And that’s because being a girl isn’t something you age out of.

Always a Girl at Heart

Scrolling through Ashley Williams’ Instagram is like flipping through a perfectly curated scrapbook (that’s already been liked by half of your friends). Every post is stamped with her unmistakable style. So strong and self-assured that you can’t help but save a few to your camera roll.

Scroll through and you’ll find the blue-ribbon glasses on different models, and the sheer stockings that say “I ♡ ME,” effortlessly paired with a Hello Kitty plush (because why not?). Each post is another glimpse into her world, one you kind of want to step into and stay for a while.

Something that really caught my eye this time is this PVC bag that I know is already on countless wishlists. It’s a perfect Ashley Williams creation, packed with band-aids, stickers, receipts, random scraps of paper. The clutter of our everyday life turned into something unexpectedly cool.

If the Clothes Don’t Exist, Make Them Yourself

“Critics didn’t even write about my first show.” ”They said it was ‘too feminine’.”

That’s what Ashley Williams was told when she launched her brand in 2014. The industry then wasn’t sure how to handle her mix of hyper-girly, kitschy, rebellious designs. It wasn’t sleek minimalism, it wasn’t normcore, and it definitely wasn’t effortless cool. It was loud, playful, and a little chaotic. Which is exactly why people are obsessed with it now.

Pink, bows, and unapologetically girly aesthetics aren’t seen as something weak anymore. Now, they’re power moves. Ashley Williams made them cheeky, edgy, and fun in a way that nobody else was doing. She first turned heads with her graduate collection at Westminster University, which led to support from Fashion East and the British Fashion Council’s NEWGEN program. From there, things took off. Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and Charli XCX were early supporters, and suddenly, Ashley Williams was the brand on everyone’s radar.

Ashley Williams has never followed trends, she’s created them. Even as a little girl she realized the clothes she really wanted didn’t exist, so she started making them herself. Her path into fashion started with photography and art in her A-LEVEL coursework, setting the stage for the visual, offbeat world she’s built today.

Ashley Williams proves that fashion doesn’t need to be serious to make an impact. Her collections are packed with hilarious slogans, meme-worthy graphics, and adorable animal prints, all mixed with a punky, don’t-mess-with-me attitude. Even her Instagram gives it away: her brand isn’t about being polished or unattainable. It’s about real, messy, fun self-expression.

That’s why these pieces feel different. They make you laugh, make you feel like you’re in on an inside joke, and most importantly, make you feel understood. Her work speaks to a very specific kind of girl, the kind who loves cute things, but refuses to be underestimated.

The London Kitsch Blueprint

Every designer starts somewhere, and for Ashley Williams, that somewhere was SS15.

Looking back, her early collections were definitely filled with that signature London punk spirit. At the time, her designs had a lot in common with Lazy Oaf, another cult favorite from the city. Neon colors, peep-toe heels, and chaotic, playful styling were all over the 2010s, and Ashley Williams was right in the middle of it, laying the foundation for what would become her signature style.

By 2017, she was having her first major “it” moment. Her clothes were everywhere, the kind of brand you couldn’t scroll past without stopping. The defining moment? A pink-haired Fernanda Ly wearing an Ashley Williams tee that was so perfect it had fans running to buy it. We knew then that Ashley Williams wasn’t just a designer to watch. She was setting the tone for a whole movement.

The late 2010s were peak Ashley Williams. Her patchwork designs, pink dollar-bill prints, and chaotic but effortless silhouettes locked in the brand’s identity.

When the pandemic hit, everything stopped. Financial struggles forced Ashley Williams to put things on hold, but she wasn’t about to disappear. With backing from Fashion East, she made a comeback that was stronger, sharper, and cuter than ever. Her SS24 collection was everything longtime fans had been waiting for: playful, cheeky, full of surprises. Like running into an old friend and picking up right where you left off.

Ashley Williams SS25 is already making waves. Proving that she knows exactly what her audience wants without ever watering down her own vision. Every tiny element was intentional while still having that perfectly effortless, cool-girl energy that Ashley Williams does best.

Ashley Williams keeps the fun alive for girls who refuse to let go of that part of themselves.

It is about both cute, nostalgic fashion AND saying what you mean loud and clear, through bold graphics and in-your-face slogans. If you love all things pink and playful but have been through enough to know you need a little bite to your sweetness, you’ll get why this brand has a cult following. Ashley Williams girls? They look cute, but mess with them and you’ll find out real quick what happens.
