Crush Chronicles

Jentestore Crush Chronicles: Closet Edition

There are two types in the world: those drawn to people who are complete opposites and those who fall for someone similar. While personality usually gets most of the airtime on this topic, today we’re shifting the lens to something more visual: style. We asked six jentestore team members what they’d want to see their partner wearing.

Jente’s Jongwon Lee

I’ve got a more mellow vibe myself, and while I’m into someone a bit brighter that doesn’t mean our style shouldn’t sync up. I lean toward that effortlessly curated look. The kind with the quiet precision of Hedi Slimane’s Saint Laurent or Celine collections. Something that whispers refinement without shouting about it.

I find myself drawn to naturally understated, not flashy. Think boat shoes with a subtle sense for details. If those boat shoes are by Miu Miu? Now we’re talking.

When it comes to style, it has to match. Taste shows in the small things, even without saying a word. I lean toward clean lines and sharp silhouettes. I prefer structure over softness.

Minimal with a hint of modern. What some call Copenhagen style. Brands like Our Legacy, mfpen, and sunflower are in heavy rotation for me. There are so many women’s pieces that catch my eye too, the kind I’d want to see someone else wear because I can’t.

Take this blue trucker jacket from Prada. There’s something boyish but crisp about it. If someone wore it well, that would be enough for me.

I tend to be drawn to people who are completely different from me. My own style leans dark, color-wise and mood-wise. Maybe that’s why I hope the person next to me brings a little more light into the mix. That doesn’t mean over-the-top prints or florals, but rather someone who knows how to pick out a fabric or color that quietly stands out.

I’m usually in to labels like Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, and Y/Project. So I’d love to see someone wear something like Paloma Wool, which is a brand that carries a softness and subtle detail that can contrast with what I wear.

One piece that stands out is their sleeveless top. It shows off the shoulder line in a really elegant way. I think there’s something striking about summer clothes that let those kinds of details come through. It’s not loud, but it leaves an impression.

In the end, I’m more drawn to people who differ from me but still have a strong sense of what looks good.

Seongsu-dong Crow

Hello, this is Seongsu-dong Crow.

Hi, I’m the one who used to dress entirely in black, and still mostly does. Even though there’s more color in my closet these days, I’ll always have a soft spot for all-black everything. To me, there’s nothing cooler than long black hair with an outfit that goes black from top to bottom. I’m a fan of Gabriette’s style, full stop.

I like a slightly rebellious edge, something vintage-leaning and a bit worn in. A relaxed boot, a faded print, that kind of energy. Ann Demeulemeester is my go-to.

If I had to picture a partner, I’d want them to wear something in the same world. Clean black pieces, but nothing sloppy. Gabriela Coll Garments and RIER are high on the list. And if the look is finished with a pair of GUIDI ankle boots, that would be the ideal scenario.

People say I have a bit of a playful side, and I think they’re right. I tend to be drawn to people with a similar personality, but when it comes to clothing, I’m more into contrast.

I like styles that feel classic but contemporary. Something that finds a balance between structure and ease. Jacquemus captures that vibe, relaxed but refined. I also find myself checking Iris Law’s Instagram often.

For my ideal guy, I’d want someone who’s into vintage. Maybe even a little messy, but in a deliberate way.

I like what people call the “boy scout” look—brands like BODE or STORY MFG. If I had to choose one item, it would be a printed silk shirt from BODE.

I can already picture it on someone and yeah, it makes my heart skip a bit.

Goyang Dog Mom

I like people who share a similar sense of style but wear it through a different lens. I care a lot about colors, textures, and how a silhouette moves. Brands like Our Legacy, Gabriela Coll Garments, and MNZ always catch my eye. I especially love when the colors of an outfit feel like they’re part of the same mood.

Lately, I’ve been drawn to Spanish brands. They do these thin, flexible fabrics that move beautifully.

My ideal type is very specific. Think someone who wears Brunello Cucinelli to bed. Loro Piana slippers at home. Outside? They look low-key, but you know they thought it through. Entire Studios, ERD, or Saint Michael would be perfect.

Of course, all of this only works if they have a sense of what’s current. I don’t go for anything overly polished. I prefer outfits with breathing room. There’s something about that looseness that suggests a relaxed personality. All three of those brands have that kind of lived-in elegance. If someone I love wore them, I’d probably fall for them all over again.

Whether you’re daydreaming about what your partner could wear or eyeing a new piece for yourself, Jente’s season-off sale might be your moment. Style it how you like, but imagine the whole look. That’s half the fun.
