Fashion Week Make-Up Diary
April 14, 2025
Miss X, 29, is a Seoul office worker who's grown thoroughly bored with her daily routine.
Then one day, she catches a glimpse of Sarah Burton’s FW25 debut collection for GIVENCHY. Specifically, an outfit embellished with a makeup compact and mirror. It sounds random, sure, but let’s not underestimate how much power chance can wield in life. Something clicked. From that moment, she decided to add a dose of fun to her days by playing with makeup again.

Inspired by backstage buzz at Fashion Week, she begins jotting down a day-by-day makeup diary. So what did her week actually look like? Let’s dive into it.
Miss X's One-Week Makeup Diary
Monday: Facing the Monday blues with sheer force
Monday blues? She eats those for breakfast. Her eyeliner is a declaration of intent. A fierce, sharp line slicing toward the heavens. The longer the line, the stronger her will to win the day. It doesn’t even have to be classic black. Pulling a cue from the FW25 Coperni show, she goes for colored glitter textures instead – instant impact. On this particular Monday, she throws on a layered white top with detailing straight off the runway, fitted pants, and a pair of stilettos sharp enough to rival her liner.

Tuesday: Woke up late, rushing out the door
Disaster. She hits snooze too many times, and now she’s running late. No time for lenses, so she throws on glasses and grabs whatever’s within reach from the chair pile. But then it hits her: wasn’t this kind of disheveled hair all over the recent PRADA show? Honestly, a lucky break. Thank you, Mrs. Miuccia and Raf.

Wednesday: Lashes with a hint of fairy dust
About six years ago, on her first trip to London, Miss X wrote out a wishlist. On it: a blue mascara she’d seen at Boots. Back then, colored mascara was practically nonexistent in Korea, so getting one felt like a quest. Flash forward to the present. She sees pink mascara fluttering down the runway at the FW25 CASABLANCA show and it takes her right back to those London days. She makes a mental note: buy new color mascara. It’ll be perfect for spring.

The artist had even uploaded a makeup breakdown from the show on Instagram, a real gem. That makeup? A soft glow gracing the bridge of the nose, inner corners of the eyes, cheeks. Glossy lips. The kind of look she nicknames "Seaside Surfer". Subtle, luminous, beachy. She's saving that one for her next makeup experiment.

Thursday: Feeling like a Sandy Liang girly
Dewy nude lips paired with pastel pops on the eyelids. Think ice cream, but wearable. Minimal effort, major statement. It took her all of 20 seconds. So Sandy Liang. The products? By makeup artist Farah Omidi's brand, @farahomidibeauty. Definitely going on the wishlist.

Friday: Out with friends, ready to dance
Friday demands a proper outing. And wow, the 3.1 Phillip Lim show makeup hits all her soft spots. Another Farah Omidi creation. One glance and she’s already planning her version: soft blush under the eyes with a hazy, moody vibe, plus highlighter. The placement is clever. Lower than dark circles and brushed on diagonally. A small detail that changes everything. She’ll be styling her hair with two snap clips on either side, headed out with confidence.

Saturday: Doll eyes, wide open
There’s no denying lashes are a cheat code. The difference is night and day. She always gets a lash perm, definitely one of the most cost-effective beauty hacks, in her opinion. Her most-used phrase at the salon? "Make it look natural, please~". That word, natural... it's convenient, isn’t it? A little cowardly, maybe. It’s a way of saying: let’s not do too much, let’s not stand out.

But after watching VAQUERA’s FW25 show, she feels called out. The show featured full-on, gyaru-level dramatic lashes. So for her next Saturday night out, she decides: go big. Lashes, bold. Walk, confident. Cue the soundtrack: Britney Manson’s FASHION.

Sunday: D-1 till work, full-on rebel mode
By 3 p.m. on Sunday, the rebellion begins to simmer. Because Miss X is an office worker. She can tell herself mindset is everything, pretend she’s living in the moment, but Monday is coming regardless. So she lets the defiance flow. Think Vivienne Westwood levels of chaos. Eyeliner that looks hand-sketched in defiance, lip makeup centered on a sharply drawn liner. It demands attention. And if anyone dares to stare? She’s ready to fire back: "What? Never seen someone wear this before?"

Sunday is not the day to test her.
The secret here is in the lips. The rest of the outfit? Keep it understated. As mundane as the creeping dread of Monday itself. The sun rises again tomorrow, after all.
